Even the best-planned day can't prevent every accident

Liability insurance protects you if you or a guest causes property damage to your venue, if someone is injured at your event, or if a guest leaves and gets into an accident. eWed's policy covers you from the moment set-up begins — through the breakdown of the final celebration of the weekend.

Property damage

Covers accidental damage to your venue caused by you or your guests — no surprise repair bills.

Guest injury

Protects you if a guest is injured at your event and you're held legally responsible.

Host liquor liability

Included at no extra cost — coverage most homeowner's and renter's policies simply don't offer.

Liability FAQ

Your liability questions, answered

What does event liability insurance actually cover?+

It protects you if you or a guest causes property damage to your venue, if a guest is injured at your event, or if an intoxicated guest leaves and causes an accident. Coverage runs up to $2,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 total, depending on the plan you choose, and includes Host Liquor Liability.

Is it really guaranteed to be accepted by my venue?+

Yes. Our policy is designed to meet venue requirements, names your venue as an Additional Insured, and we email a copy of the certificate directly to your venue. If your venue won't accept it, we'll refund you in full.

How much is liability insurance, and is there a deductible?+

Liability policies start at $119 for $1 million in coverage, with a higher $2M plan available. Every policy has a $0 deductible for both property damage and injuries — you never pay out of pocket on a covered claim.

When can I buy, and when does coverage start?+

You can purchase any time up to one day before your event. Coverage begins the moment set-up starts at your first event — whether that's the rehearsal dinner or the ceremony — and runs through breakdown of the final celebration. That's three full days for weddings.

Do I need a Waiver of Subrogation?+

Only if your venue specifically requires one. A Waiver of Subrogation makes your insurance the only policy to pay in the event of a covered claim, even if the venue is partially liable. If you need it, you can add it to your eWed policy with a single click.
